"I don't wear Yellow"
"I don't wear Yellow" - Almost every client I've ever done a colour consultation with has uttered these words when we get to the different shades of yellow that would suit them. Arguably, the wrong shade of yellow has the potential to make one look a bit ill, but we are talking about the correct shade here. Which got me to ponder:
Why not Yellow?
Perplexed, I mentioned this issue to a naturopath, and she enlightened me. According to a chart of the chakras, yellow is the colour of the third, or stomach chakra. It is strong, it is noticable, it is male, and it represents our power, self-esteem, charisma, determination, leadership and sense of humour. It says:
"I can do anything I set my mind to"
In other words, yellow makes no excuses for who and what we are. In yellow, you cannot hide your true self.
Who do you know that wears yellow often? Would the quotes above describe them accurately?
Would you dare to wear yellow to the office? Or head to toe? Which shades of yellow work for you?
