"Beauty-bringing pounds" indeed! How times, and attitudes, have changed... Feeling good about yourself, being comfortable in your own skin, and having the confidence to celebrate your femininity, need have nothing to do with your age, height or...dare I say it...weight! You are already beautiful, silly.
It seems that winter is upon us in Perth. Whether you are staying home or going away to a cosy country cabin with a fireplace for the weekend, this comfy capsule will take you from dress-down Friday to super-lazy Sunday with warmth and ease.
One of my favourite looks - masculine meets feminine It's easy to do: just 'borrow' from the boys (sometimes literally!), and don't forget to add something ultra-feminine, like an old-fashioned brooch, sparkly earrings, red lips or a floral print, to balance it all out.
"I don't wear Yellow" - Almost every client I've ever done a colour consultation with has uttered these words when we get to the different shades of yellow that would suit them. Arguably, the wrong shade of yellow has the potential to make one look a bit ill, but we are talking about the correct shade here. Which got me to ponder:
Why not Yellow?
Perplexed, I mentioned this issue to a naturopath, and she enlightened me. According to a chart of the chakras, yellow is the colour of the third, or stomach chakra. It is strong, it is noticable, it is male, and it represents our power, self-esteem, charisma, determination, leadership and sense of humour. It says:
"I can do anything I set my mind to" "I am powerful and use my power wisely" "I have a good sense of humour and laugh often"
In other words, yellow makes no excuses for who and what we are. In yellow, you cannot hide your true self. Who do you know that wears yellow often? Would the quotes above describe them accurately? Would you dare to wear yellow to the office? Or head to toe? Which shades of yellow work for you?
